Our Approach:
Reliable Resources
Support & Adding Value
Fostering A Community For Sharing Resources
American Corporate Partners (ACP) is a national nonprofit organization focused on helping returning veterans and active duty spouses find their next careers through one-on-one mentoring, networking and online career advice.
More than 1 million veterans are expected to transition from the armed forces to civilian life over the next five years. ACP engages the American people in a unique volunteer opportunity to provide career guidance to returning military as they transition back into civilian life.
We believe that the biggest issue facing our returning service members is not unemployment – it’s underemployment. ACP focuses on helping veterans and active duty spouses find meaningful employment opportunities and develop long-term careers.
Founder Sidney E. Goodfriend launched American Corporate Partners on Labor Day 2008 with the help of six founding corporate partners who provided funding to ACP and volunteer Mentors. By the end of 2009, ACP had paired 500 returning veterans with Mentors. In November 2018, ACP announced it is expanding its reach and opening its program to the active duty spouse community. Currently, ACP has more than 4,000 veterans and active duty spouses paired one-on-one with mentors from more than 100 of America’s top companies, universities and hospitals.
Since its founding, ACP has focused on expanding its number of Corporate Partners, reaching out to a larger number of returning military and designing several new programs and initiatives to help an increasing number of service members, returning veterans and their families.
ACP now connects veterans with business leaders in a variety of ways beyond its original corporate mentoring program.
- ACP’s Women’s Veteran Mentoring Program launched in 2016 and connects female veterans with female entrepreneurs and business leaders for yearlong mentorships. Women veterans have access to exclusive networking events and career development workshops.
-
ACP AdvisorNet is an online career Q&A community designed to assist an increasing number of veterans and current service members with networking and career advice.
-
ACP’s Active Duty Spouse Program launched in November 2018 and connects spouses on installations nationwide with business leaders for customized mentorships.
More than 24,000 veterans and spouses have successfully completed the ACP Program.
Who We Are:
We are dedicated to helping our military members and their spouses in the transition so they can find a successful landing after their service; whether that is higher education, a dream job, or the ability to start their own business.
How We Help:
American Dream U offers two main services for transitioning veterans: Online programs and educational workshop events.
American Dream U’s online programs are catered to helping veterans become successful professionals in the world of business, with breadth in courses; everything from entrepreneurship to the intricacies of setting up a LinkedIn profile.
American Dream U’s workshop events are fueled by the same purpose; offering unique, differentiating benefits when paired with the online courses such as networking and connecting with other veterans, as well as hearing personal success stories of post-service careers.
Who We Help:
Military, Veteran and spouses are our mission and the stats below reflect the need. Here at American Dream U, we believe that a smoother transition will go a long way in improving these stats in the future.
– 2 out of 3 new veterans will find it difficult to transition
– About 400,000 veterans remained unemployed at the end of 2017
– 22 – 28 veterans will commit suicide each day.
– Approximately 245,000 Service men and women will transition out of the military in 2018.
Our Mission
Cultivate community and growth with veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers through the arts.
Our Story
We believe that trauma and loss breeds creativity and discovery.
The veterans and military families in Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP)’s community prove this point. But, it also holds true for our founder, Sam Pressler. After losing a family member to suicide while in high school, Sam turned to comedic expression to cope. When he later learned about mental health challenges affecting veterans through his college research at William & Mary, Sam felt compelled to act. While at W&M, he launched the country’s first comedy class for veterans, as well as the largest veterans writing group in the Southeast. Within a year, a supportive community formed – one that gave veterans permission to process and express, connect and grow, heal and serve others.
After receiving the Echoing Green Fellowship, Sam converted the student organization into ASAP, a 501(c)3 non-profit. Today, ASAP is thriving in the D.C. Metro area and Hampton Roads, VA, serving thousands of veterans and military families, and empowering its alumni to become artistic leaders in their communities. As a result of our impact in the communities we serve, we have received significant attention. We have performed at The White House, have been featured on a PBS documentary, and have been recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30 list for “Social Entrepreneurship.”
The reintegration of our nation’s veterans is not just a veterans issue. It involves veterans and civilians, community arts organizations and local health providers, military recruiting and VA care. It requires social, physical, and artistic outlets just as much as it demands traditional medical care. Through our collaborative, community-driven, and deeply focused program model, we are forging a new path for veterans to reintegrate into civilian life, and for our communities to welcome them home.
Our Values
Community – We foster lasting, supportive relationships between veterans and civilians alike, transforming those who may feel isolated into a community of friends.
Trust, Honesty & Openness – Through a community rooted in trust, we facilitate an authentic, honest, and constructive dialogue.
Respect – We choose to treat each other as peers, and act as such, despite our differences in experiences and perspectives.
Responsibility – We come prepared to engage, listen, and provide feedback and support.
Creativity – As a community, we embrace the creative process, and fully explore our expressive possibilities.
Humor – We find humor in our jokes, our shortcomings, and our community.
Lifelong Learning – We strive to learn from our instructors, our peers, and ourselves. As we grow as individuals and artists, we also grow as a community.

About us
Helping people on their journey to a better life has been the mission of the Reveille Foundation since 2018. For many who are transitioning into a new community, rebuilding their life, or just want a fresh start can find it extremely difficult to locate and navigate programs and services. Some of these resources can take weeks, months and even years to navigate and unless you are familiar with the processes many get confused, overwhelmed, or simply give up.
That’s why we created the Reveille Foundation. We work with individuals to understand exactly where they are in all aspects of their life and together, create a plan for success. We then bring the community of resources together to help, provide case management and follow-up regularly with each individual.
We do not do this work alone and value our amazing community partners who we work with, hand-in-hand because it takes a village approach to help people succeed. Our participants work hard themselves throughout their journey and we often act as a mentor, advocate, and cheerleader.
This is the call to unite our communities, this is the call to help those in need. This is the call for you to change your life for the better.
This is the Reveille Foundation,
